The following questions and answers are designed to provide an understanding of Feather Sound Country Club and the membership opportunities available at the Club.

As these questions and answers are only summary in nature, we encourage you to please read the Membership Plan and Rules & Regulations, prior to applying for a membership.

Q: What is Feather Sound Country Club?
A: Feather Sound Country Club is a private club located in Clearwater, Florida and features superlative golf, tennis, swimming, dining and other social facilities. The Club offers memberships in the following categories: Full Golf, Corporate, Intermediate Golf, National, Tennis and Clubhouse.

Q: Who owns the Club facilities?
A: Dale Schmidt and Cherie Haigley, St. Petersburg residents, own and operate the Club and its facilities.

Q: What facilities does the Club offer?
A: Members, their families and guests may enjoy the following exceptional Club facilities:

  • 18-Hole Championship Golf Course
  • Golf Practice Facility

Q: Who is eligible for a membership in the Club?
A: Memberships are being offered to individuals who are approved for membership by the Club. Corporate Memberships are being offered to actual active corporations, partnerships or other forms of multiple ownership. To qualify for an Intermediate Golf Membership, the applicant and his or her spouse, if married, must be under 40 years of age. National Memberships are available to persons who reside and work more than 75 miles from the Club's facilities.

Q: What are the privileges of a Full Membership?
A: Full Members are entitled to use all of the golf, tennis, swimming, dining and other social facilities of the Club. Full Members are not required to pay greens fees or outdoor court fees (except for their guests), but shall be required to pay cart fees, dues and F&B minimums.

Q: What are the privileges of an Intermediate Golf Membership?
A: Intermediate Golf Members are entitled to use all of the golf, tennis, swimming, dining, and other social facilities of the Club. Intermediate Golf Members are not required to pay greens fees (except for their guests), but shall be required to pay cart fees, dues, and dining room minimums. Upon the Intermediate Golf Member's 40th birthday, or his or her spouse's if married, based on the elder spouse, the Intermediate Golf Member shall have the option to choose the Full Golf Membership by paying the difference between the initiation fees paid for the Intermediate Membership and the current Full Golf Membership initiation fee. The Intermediate Member will also begin to pay the current monthly dues for a Full Golf Membership.

Q: What are the privileges of a National Membership?
A: National Members are entitled to use all of the golf, tennis, fitness center, swimming, dining and other social facilities of the Club. National Members are not required to pay greens fees or outdoor court fees (except for their guests), but shall be required to pay cart fees for these 24 rounds of golf, dues and minimums.

Q: What are the privileges of a Tennis Membership?
A: Tennis Members are entitled to unlimited use of the tennis, fitness center, swimming, dining and other social facilities of the Club. Tennis Members are required to pay dues and minimums.

Q: What are the privileges of a Clubhouse Membership?
A: Clubhouse Members are entitled to unlimited use of the swimming pool, dining room and other social facilities of the Club. Clubhouse Members shall be required to pay monthly dues, as well as dining room (F&B) minimums.

Q: What are the minimums?
A: There is an annual fee, the amount determined by membership category, that Members must satisfy by food & beverage purchases at the Club. Any unused balance of the F&B minimum will be charged to the Member statement.

Q: What are the special features of membership in the Club?
A: In addition to outstanding facilities and an extensive array of programs and activities for members and their families, membership in the Club currently offers a number of attractive benefits, including:

  • No Assessments: Members are not subject to either operating or capital expense assessments.
  • Family Privileges: The member's spouse and unmarried children under the age of 23 who are living at home or attending school on a full-time basis can enjoy the same membership privileges as the member.
  • Extended Family: Privileges. A member's extended family, including adult children, parents, grandparents and grandchildren and their respective spouses, can enjoy the Club's facilities by paying reduced fees as provided for in this Membership Plan.
  • Club Newsletter: Members will receive a newsletter containing information about upcoming events and activities at the Club and other items of interest to members.
  • Club Website:  The Club website provides members with exclusive access to important up-to-date Club information.

Q: Will my family members be welcome at the Club?
A: The ability to spend quality time with members of the family is of paramount importance these days. The Club is committed to providing a pleasant environment where this can be accomplished. Each membership in the Club is a family membership, which includes full privileges for spouses or domestic partners and unmarried children under the age of 23 who either live at home or attend school on a full-time basis. The Club provides programs and activities that are appealing to family members of all ages.

The extended family of a member will be permitted to use the Club Facilities in the company of the member in accordance with the member's category of membership upon payment of reduced fees. The extended family shall include the parents, adult children who do not fall within the definition of immediate family, grandparents and grandchildren of the member and spouse and their respective spouses.

Q: May I invite guests to the Club?
A: Yes. Having your friends enjoy the Club's outstanding facilities with you is a wonderful amenity of membership in the Club. Therefore, members are entitled to have guests use the Club's facilities, in accordance with the Member's category of membership and the rules and regulations adopted by the Club to preserve the exclusivity of its facilities.

Q: Can members be assessed to cover any operating deficits or capital improvements?
A: No. Members will not be subject to any liability for capital or operating assessments for the costs and expenses of ownership or operation of the Club or the Club Facilities. The Company will pay all operating deficits incurred in the operation of the Club Facilities and will retain all operating revenues resulting from operation of the Club Facilities.

Q: How do I become a member?
A: To become a member of the Club, you must submit to the Club a fully completed and signed Application for Membership, along with a check in the amount of the required non-refundable processing fee and membership initiation fee (if applicable). In the event your Application is not acted upon favorably, the membership Application processing fee will be fully refunded, without interest.
